Sorry, it took so long to publish a post. My week was a little hectic because of Vishu. This week was like an emotional roller-coaster of sorts. It's my first Vishu away from home and I felt a little lost without having my parents and friends to celebrate it with me. Well, Chris and Ami came over, and that really made my day. Hope you all had a great Vishu and I wish everyone a prosperous and bright New Year!
Nothing to say my dear! I am speechless-how did you manage all this, so far away from home. Qudos to your parents for inculcating these little "rituals" (I know Meera used to do the "kanni" thing!)and to you both for continuing it.(You didn't miss the "Vaal kannadi I notice!) Wonderful and IMPRESSIVE, very IMPRESSIVE!
Excellent Kanni! Sandhya you have really taken a lot of trouble to make it a super Vishu! After 9 years in the US, I think Sandeep is experiencing his first real Vishu! You are an absolute perfectionist!
My little son flower................ Am really proud of you!!!Am glad I could teach some of our traditions, though we lived away from home for 19 yrs!Cheers to you for such a great Vishu, & thks to Sandeep for supporting you, & make you feel very much at home, though very far away from home!!!May God bless both of you..........
We just returned from south after the wedding of Sanjana and now only could see your beautiful & perfect ‘vishukkani’! Can’t find words to express my feelings; we are so happy that you have perfected to follow our tradition! The ‘sadya’, just by the looks I can say for sure was a perfect one! Let the year be as bright as the ‘kani’ for both of you. Love, Acha
Hey Sandhya! Amazing blog; it's a wonder I am not drooling all over my keyboard! I was wondering if you could share the recipe for pulliserry some time (or any dish from kerela that you fancy writing about. You see my husband loves his ghar ka khaana and i have to admit that I am knowledge impaired in the area of malayali cuisine. Once again, great blog; looking forward to your posts!
